Samsung remains Mexico smartphone leader with 35% market share in 2019

Samsung continued to dominate the smartphone sector in Mexico with 35.0 percent of total sales in 2019, down around a percentage point year on year, according to data from The Competitive Intelligence Unit (CIU). The Korean manufacturer remained well ahead of Motorola and Huawei, with 15.6 percent and 13.7 percent of the market respectively, while Apple and LG rounded out the top 5 with 11.3 percent and 8.2 percent of the market. Only Motorola and Huawei posted higher figures at the end of 2019, climbing 1.6 percent and 1.4 percent respectively compared to their H1 readings, said the report.
