Samsung says no S8 launch planned for MWC

Monday 23 January 2017 | 14:35 CET | News
Samsung has confirmed that it will not launch the Galaxy S8 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in late February, Reuters reports, citing Samsung Mobile chief Koh Dong-jin. A new launch date is not yet known. The delay in the next flagship smartphone from the world's largest mobile phone maker is thought to be due to a need to revise Samsung's production and quality control processes, after the recall of the Galaxy Note 7. Samsung earlier announced that the problems with the Note 7 overheating were due to problems with the battery components.
