Samsung supports traffic safety campaign

Sunday 16 April 2017 | 17:36 CET | News

Samsung has taken a number of measures to improve road safety. The manufacturer has incorporated the phrase "Stuur vast, smartphone los " (hold the wheel, not your smartphone)  in all of its communication.  The company has developed an app, In-Traffic Reply, which detects traffic movements via GPS and automatically sends a reply if the user is on the move.

The new traffic satefy catchphrase is supported by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, Veilig Verkeer Nederland, the ANWB, the association of Dutch cyclists, Flitsmeister, RAI Vereniging, Team Alert, Nederland ICT and the Hogeschool of Utrecht.

Samsung cited research from PanelWizard, which noted that one-third of Dutch phones are often used in the car without handsfree systems.
