Samsung to begin selling Tizen smartphones in 2013

Samsung Electronics has said it will start selling smartphones this year featuring the Tizen operating system backed by Intel, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. "We plan to release new, competitive Tizen devices within this year and will keep expanding the lineup depending on market conditions," Samsung said in a statement. The company has not elaborated on model specifications, prices or a timeframe for their debut. The new handsets will come as Samsung works to reduce its reliance on Google's Android operating system after Google acquired handset maker Motorola Mobility. Intel, Samsung,
