Samsung to invest KRW 13 trillion in display production facilitates upgrade

Samsung Display, a unit of Samsung Electronics, has announced plans to invest KRW 13.1 trillion (approximately USD 10.9 billion) by 2025, to upgrade its liquid crystal display (LCD) production facilities and produce more advanced displays amid increased competition, Yonhap news agency reports. Samsung Display plans to spend KRW 10 trillion to upgrade its existing facilities and accelerate a shift into next-generation panels. Samsung will spend the remaining KRW 3.1 trillion for the development of high-end display technologies, particularly quantum dot materials.
