Samsung to replace head of unit in charge of 5G equipment - report

Monday 10 December 2018 | 11:00 CET | News
Samsung is expected to soon announce the departure of Kim Young-ky, head of the unit that provides 5G equipment, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The move should be announced next week as part of the company's end of year reshuffling, as a way to make the company more competitive against Huawei. No replacement has been fixed, though one possibility under consideration is Cheun Kyung-whoon, a networks executive vice president who has worked on 5G R&D.
