The Galaxy S4 features a Dual Camera function that allows simultaneous use of both front and rear cameras by enabling users to choose from a variety of frame effects which blend the two pictures naturally, adjusting the size of the small picture inside the big one. Users can select eight different ways to combine the two photos taken by the front camera and the rear camera. At the same time, the Dual Video Call function allows users to make and receive a video call while showing what the user is looking at during the call.
In addition, the Galaxy S 4 is equipped with twelve shooting modes including Drama Shot, which allows users to see all action in one continuous time-lapse and Sound & Shot, which stores sound and voice together as the picture is taken. Moments can also now be automatically stored in a photo album with the new Story Album function, which gathers and sorts photos according to a user's timeline, geo-tagging information or specific event information to create an album.
The Group Play function allows users to enjoy music, photos, documents and games without a Wi-Fi or mobile signal, and the Share Music option enables users to have the same song play on multiple phones in sync.
The Galaxy S 4 is equipped with Samsung Smart Pause which enables users to control the screen by where they look, and Samsung Smart Scroll which allows users to scroll the browser or emails up and down without touching the screen. The device recognises the user's face looking at the screen and movement of their wrist to scroll the pages up or down accordingly.
Air View offers users the ability to hover with their fingers to preview the content of an email, S Planner, image gallery or video without having to open it, and Air Gesture allows users to change the music track, scroll up or down a web page or accept a call with the wave of a hand. With S Voice Drive users can activate voice commands via voice control. Samsung Optical Reader automatically recognises text, a business card or QR code information, providing information such as translation, call, text message and search.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 can also transform into an IR remote control for the user's home entertainment system using Samsung WatchOn, while the S Health software keeps users up-to-date with health and wellbeing information. Samsung Adapt Display provides an optimal viewing experience, customised for each type of application, and Samsung Adapt Sound offers an optimal level and type of sound, personalised for each user.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be available in the second quarter including in the US, partnering with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, as well as US Cellular and Cricket. In Europe, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be available with global mobile operators such as Deutsche Telecom, EE, H3G, Orange, Telenor, Telia Sonera, Telefonica and Vodafone.
