Samsung updates 5G base station chipset for mmWave bands

Samsung Electronics announced that it has completed the development of its 5G mmWave chipsets for base stations. They are comprised of RFICs and front-end ASICs supporting the 28GHz and 39GHz bands. The company said the new chipset is about 25 percent smaller and offers a similar reduction in power consumpetion compared to the previous generation, and 5G base stations using these new chipsets are more efficient in operation and roll-out.
