Sanoma invests in VoD start-up WappZapp

SanomaVentures is investing in the VoD start-up WappZapp. WappZapp selects web videos and online TV programmes according to users interest, to help them organise viewing sessions on their phones, tablets or smart TVs. Around 350,000 Dutch users have already downloaded the free app, Sanoma said. WappZapp recently announced that it has added paid films, series and comedy to its guide, claiming to be the first to offer both free and paid VoD in the same app. Sanoma said the investment recognises the strong growth in the VoD market and will provide a good addition to its TV channels and video
