Saudi CITC objects to ICANN against domain name requests

Saudi Arabia's Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has filed over 160 objections to domain administrator ICANN about proposed generic Top Level Domain names (gTLDs) in the past week, ITPnet reported. Saudi Telecom has also lodged ten objections along similar lines, while US religious campaign group Morality In Media has lodged around 800 complaints. The CITC has objected to suffixes such as .sex, .gay, .wine, .casino, .dating, .porn, bible, .islam, and .halal on the grounds that it would be inappropriate for them to be controlled by a single entity as they would not be
