Scarlet scraps EU roaming surcharges

Wednesday 27 April 2016 | 13:31 CET | News
Belgian operator Scarlet announced that it's scrapping roaming costs entirely in the EU from 29 April. The Proximus subsidiary said the decision is in line with its aim to offer simple packages at the best price. It noted that 45 percent of Belgians turn off roaming when travelling in the EU due to fear of high costs. They will now be able to use their phones at the same cost as in Belgium. Customers with a monthly bundle will have the usage deducted from their standard plan. After using up the monthly plan, they pay the standard out-of-bundle fees.
