Seacom's 1 TB fibre link from Johannesburg to Cape Town goes live

Seacom has lit up a 1 TB fibre line connecting Johannesburg and Cape Town, ITWeb reported. Byron Clatterbuck, CEO of Seacom, said the fibre link was lit up in mid-September. Clatterbuck was guarded about exactly how much the company invested in the fibre but he hinted that it spent about ZAR 100 million on the facility, ITWeb added.
