Seniors show strong interest in smartphones, mobile data

Wednesday 30 September 2015 | 17:00 CET | News
Internal research by Vodafone Germany shows that more over 60s are using smartphones. Compared to last year, the number of senior mobile phone customers has increased by 14 percent. Men account for 56 percent of senior (60+ years) mobile phone customers, with women making up 44 percent. More than one third of seniors mobile phone customers own a smartphone, of which 85 percent use mobile data (compared to 93% of 18-59 year olds). Just like 18-59 year olds, over 60s also tend to favour trendy devices from Apple and Samsung instead of special senior handsets with larger keys.
