SES boosts Cuban connectivity with Etecsa deal

Wednesday 21 February 2018 | 09:50 CET | News
Satellite operator SES has announced a contract with Cuba's state-owned telecommunications operator Etecsa to boost the island's connectivity with a satellite-based system. Under the terms of the deal SES Networks will augment Etecsa's existing terrestrial infrastructure with its medium earth orbit (MEO) capacity and enhance connectivity for the operator's end-customers. The contract will allow Etecsa to diversify and improve the reliability of its connectivity on the main island of Cuba to the benefit of both locals and visitors alike, said SES.
