SES O3b mPower to provide Orange connectivity in remote locations

Thursday 27 February 2020 | 11:23 CET | News
SES has announced that Orange will be the first telecom operator to integrate O3b mPOWER into its network. The satellite-based communications system will provide high bandwidth services globally when it becomes operational in 2022, delivering up to 10 Gbps of IP transit connectivity. This new collaboration with Orange will start in the Central African Republic, where the operator will rely on O3b mPOWER for cellular backhaul and IP transit, connecting and aggregating 2G/3G traffic from remote base stations around the country to the core network in the capital of Bangui.
