Sharp announces return to European smartphone market

Friday 1 September 2017 | 09:56 CET | News
Sharp has announced at the IFA show in Berlin plans to return to the European smartphone market. After several years of focusing on its home market Japan and Asia, the company said it will present a new smartphone for European markets at the Mobile World Congress in early 2018, reports German site Inside-handy.de. The new phones will build on its relationship with Foxconn, which is now a controlling shareholder in Sharp, and the company's speciality displays and camera components, according to Yoshihisa Ishida, CEO of Sharp Europe.
