Siemens supervisory board to resist SIS job cuts

Monday 20 December 2010 | 12:05 CET | News
The supervisory board of Siemens says it will resist planned job cuts at IT services provider Siemens IT Solutions and Services (SIS), reports dpa-AFX. Birgit Steinborn, deputy chairman of the supervisory board, told the 'Euro am Sonntag' newspaper that it would fight for every single job. Siemens has recently agreed to sell SIS to Atos Origin for EUR 850 million. Following the loss of 4,200 of 35,000 SIS jobs worldwide, an additional 1,750 jobs are to be cut, including 650 in Germany.
