Sigfox expands into MEA

Sigfox has announced its expansion in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The company said it's opening an office in Dubai, UAE to manage its network roll-out in the region. Based in Dubai, the company's MEA operations are headed by mobile-telecom industry veteran Thierry Siminger, President of Sigfox Middle East & Africa. He joins Sigfox from Oberthur Technologies, where most recently he was President of Oberthur's Russia, Middle East and Africa (RMEA) unit, and MD of telecom for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Earlier in his career, he was MD for Gemplus (now Gemalto) for the MEA region. Currently operating or being deployed in the US and 10 European countries and registering over 5 million devices, Sigfox's network offers IoT-dedicated connectivity with a high level of service and reliability.
