Singapore leads in 4G speed, Korea in availability - study

Singapore has the fastest LTE in the world, followed closely by South Korea, which also leads in LTE availability, according to the latest report from Open Signal. The crowdsourced test found an average download speed of 45.9 Mbps in Singapore in the third quarter, making it one of a growing number of countries achieving over 40 Mbps on 4G. The global average speed found in the tests was 17.4 Mbps. While most of the countries analyzed had speeds well over 20 Mbps, the relatively slow connections of some of the largest countries in the world brought down the global average, Open Signal said.
