SingTel to buy ad-tech specialist Kontera - report

Singapore operator SingTel is in advanced talks to buy US ad-technology specialist Kontera for USD 160 million, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The deal could be finalized this week. Kontera, based in San Francisco, tracks content on social-media sites and has a research and development centre in Israel. It provides an advertisement platform for websites that hyperlinks words to external content. Kontera revenues reached an estimated USD 50 million in 2011, according to Israeli research company IVC-Online. Kontera has raised more than USD 36 million
