Siro selects village for rural fibre broadband pilot

Ireland's Siro, fibre-optic broadband network JV between electric utility ESB and Vodafone Ireland, has selected Ratheniska, in County Laois, as the location for a rural broadband pilot programme. It has selected Ratheniska to evaluate the potential for rolling out the Siro network to rural areas in a future phase. Currently, the partners plans to roll out the Siro fibre network to 50 regional towns across Ireland.
