Six in 10 Spaniards use chat apps daily - study

Around 60 percent of Spaniards use instant messaging services such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook Messenger several times a day, according to a survey conducted by regulator CNMC corresponding to the third quarter of 2017. The figure compares to the 24 percent who make regular daily mobile calls, the 12 percent who call via landlines and the 4 percent who make VoIP calls. The study also found that nearly 60 percent of users no longer send SMS, with only 4 percent doing so several times a day.
