SK Telecom appoints Jang Dong-Hyun as CEO

SK Group has reshuffled its executive team and appointed new CEOs at its major affiliates, The Korea Times reports. Kim Chang-geun, head of SK group’s top decision-making body, the Supex Council, will maintain his position, while the conglomerate's four biggest affiliates - SK Innovation, SK Telecom (SKT), SK Networks and SK C&C – will be managed by new leaders. Jang Dong-hyun, currently COO of SK Planet, was promoted to president of mobile operator SK Telecom.

Chung Chul-khil, president of SK C&C, was named as CEO of oil refiner SK Innovation. Chung will also lead SK Energy. Moon Jong-hoon, a secretary general of the SupexX, was appointed as CEO of SK Networks, while Park Jung-ho, currently VP of SK C&C, will take over the position of company president.

A total of 117 executives were promoted through the reshuffle carried out by SK Group. "We carefully selected people with strong leadership, with which the group can push forward strategic innovation. This will make it possible for SK to better cope with the deteriorating business environment and prolonged leadership vacuum," said Kim Chang-geun, SK Group's vice chairman and head of the Supex.
