SK Telecom, Ericsson partner on 5G network slicing

South Korean mobile operator SK Telecom has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ericsson to collaborate on the development of a 5G core network that deploys network slicing technology. SK Telecom and Ericsson will develop and deploy network slicing technology optimized for 5G services. The two companies will also continue their existing partnership to build a joint 5G test bed starting this year. As part of this collaboration effort, the two companies also plan to build a 5G-ready Hyperscale Data Center System for IT and virtualized telco services.
