SK Telecom, Samsung, HP, Intel partner on 5G NFV development

South Korean operator SK Telecom has signed a agreement with Samsung Electronics, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Intel for cooperation in the commercialization of an evolved 5G network functions virtualization (NFV) platform. Under the terms of the deal, the four partners plan to jointly develop NFV technologies for 5G network infrastructure, establish a standardized process for adoption of NFV, and develop technologies that can use the capabilities of the virtualized network.
