SK Telecom has partnered with entertainment companies in South Korea to launch a music streaming platform. Developed with SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and Big Hit Entertainment, the app is scheduled for launch later this year, Korea Joongang Daily reports. SK Telecom says its new platform will use artificial intelligence, 5G network and blockchain.
AI will be used to offer more customized content for consumers. Using data analysis, the service will be designed to provide customized music selections for listeners based on their previous choices. The platform will be connected to SK Telecom’s smart speaker Nugu, allowing users to access the streaming service via voice command.
According to SK Telecom, blockchain capabilities will be used to protect the copyright of content creators, and help content creators and platform operators keep track of where content is sold and used.
