SK Telecom to offer compensation for outage

Korean communications provider SK Telecom will compensate the customers who were affected by a six-hour network outage on 20 March. The network breakdown was caused by a failure of SK Telecom's Home Location Registration (HLR) system and affected around 5.6 million customers in Seoul and nearby areas. SK Telecom chief executive Ha Sung-min apologised for the outage and said the company will offer compensation over and above what is stated in the customer clauses.
