Sky celebrates 25 years of pay-TV services in Germany

Sky is celebrating 25 years of pay-TV services in Germany. Sky's predecessor, Premiere, launched operations on 28 February 1991. According to data from industry group VPRT, pay-TV revenue reached an estimated EUR 2.26 billion in 2015, with Sky accounting for around EUR 1.8 billion. Today, Sky customers in Germany have access to around 100 channels, with Sky showing 80 films each day during the last business year, as well as more than 150 show premieres. Premiere broadcast the first live Bundesliga football game on 02 March 1991. Today, on average 5.36 million contacts follow Bundesliga games
