Sky executive reiterates calls for independent Openreach

Friday 18 September 2015 | 11:05 CET | News
Sky's chief strategy officer Mai Fyfield believes that an independent Openreach would catalyse the transformation of the UK's broadband infrastructure. Writing in The Telegraph, Fyfield argues that the UK's only national telecoms network should not be under the control of the country's biggest broadband provider, insisting that this is not the foundation on which to build the future of digital communications. She says there is ample evidence of significant problems created by BT's ownership of Openreach, with underinvestment by BT leading to unacceptable levels of faults and service problems.
