Sky Italia CEO rules out Mediaset Premium buy

Thursday 15 September 2016 | 08:28 CET | News
Italian pay-TV provider Sky Italia is not interested in acquiring the Premium pay-TV unit of rival Mediaset, reports Askanews, citing Sky Italia CEO Andrea Zappia. "There's no interest in Premium," said Zappia at the presentation of the broadcaster's forthcoming schedule, adding that "all we are interested in is ourselves, in our return to growth after a few years." Zappia was commenting on a report by Swiss bank UBS indicating that Sky led the group of possible buyers of Mediaset Premium after France's Vivendi backed away from its original agreement to buy the whole of the pay-TV unit.
