Sky rebrands Sky Movies as Sky Cinema

Wednesday 15 June 2016 | 12:45 CET | News
Sky has announced the launch of Sky Cinema to replace Sky Movies in the UK and Ireland from 08 July. Sky Cinema customers will have access to a new movie premiere every day (a 75% increase on the four per week offered by Sky Movies), a bigger library of around 1,200 on demand films (up 20%) and more pop-up channels, at no extra cost to existing and new subscribers. HD will be offered as standard to all Sky Cinema customers on the Sky and Virgin Media platforms. Sky also plans to rebrand its movie services Germany, Austria and Italy in the coming months.
