Sky Sports taps NTT, Garland for HEVC UHD delivery

Sky Sports is using NTT's contribution encoders and decoders from UK digital video products provider, Garland, for its bid to be the first-to-market with high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) UHD delivery on its sports platform. NTT HEVC was behind broadcaster's first ever UHD IP-link for its coverage of Formula 1. The technology is also used to broadcast Premier League Football on Sky Q.
