Sky to launch advanced set-top box within weeks - report

Pay-TV operator Sky is preparing to launch an advanced set-top box dubbed SkyQ, reports The Telegraph newspaper. Sky hopes the new box will help integrate its operations across Europe and be a strong weapon in its UK pay-TV battle with BT. According to industry insiders, the new box will offer satellite TV customers an 'Apple and Netflix-style' experience. It is expected to be unveiled within weeks. The new hardware is being developed under a programme called 'Project Ethan' and will reportedly allow users to watch and record at least four programmes at the same time on multiple devices. To
