Smart homes gain importance but remain too costly - survey

About 43 percent of German internet users believe that smart home technology will have the biggest impact on the lives over the next few years, with only mobile payments given more importance (56%), according to a recent by GfK study on Smart Homes. Germans consider applications in the Energy and Lighting (51%) and Security and Control (49%) sectors as most attractive. These areas lie ahead of Entertainment (39%), smart household devices (37%) and health (29%).
