Smart Telecom launches in Uganda

Smart Telecom has entered the Ugandan market after buying the licence of Sure Telecom, which had failed to attract subscribers since its launch in December 2012. Smart Telecom, part of the Aga Khan Foundation for Development investment portfolio, did not immediately present a unique market offering except the cut price of UGX 74 for a call during their official launch, the Monitor reported. CEO Abdellatif Bouziani said Smart will operate on the 074 code.
