Smart thermostats startup Tado raises USD 50 mln

German smart thermostats startup Tado announced a further USD 50 million in funding from investors including Amazon, E.ON, Total Energy Ventures, Energy Innovation Capital, Inven Capital, the European Investment Bank and others to bring its total funding to USD 102 million. The Munich-based company said the new investment will be used to strengthen its position and extend its service offerings in the global smart thermostat market, which is expected to reach a value of USD 6.8 billion by 2022, according to research cited in its statement.
