Smart TV maker told to improve info on data collection

TP Vision, the market of Philips-brand smart TVs, does not provide customers with sufficient information about how it handles their personal data, according to a decision by the Dutch privacy regulator CBP. The regulator's investigation found that TP Vision collects and saves information on online viewing behaviour, use of apps and website visits from users of its smart TVs. This information can provide significant insight into a user's behaviour and interests, and consumers have the right to manage such information, the CBP said. TP Vision uses the information to make personalised viewing
