Over half (57%) of Dutch consumers say they keep their mobile phone by them while they sleep, according to research presented by Telecompaper at its Mobile Congress in Laren. This underlines the increasingly central place of the smartphone in everyday life. Smartphones are also helping to drive the shift from prepaid to postpaid mobile services, according to Telecompaper CEO Ed Achterberg. However with both types of payment the average revenue per customer is falling.
