Smartphone demand to slow this year to 5% - GfK

Global demand for smartphones rose 6 percent in the first quarter compared to the year before, with weak economies across the globe offset by continued low-end segment growth in most emerging regions, and especially in China, a study by GfK revealed. For this year, GfK is seeing a slowdown in growth rates and has downgraded its forecast for 2016 to 5 percent.
