Smartphone shipments drop 9% sequentially in Q2, hit by component shortages - Canalys

Smartphone shipments reached 316.0 million in the second quarter, a drop of 9 percent from the first quarter and its 347 million shipments, according to the latest study from Canalys. Worldwide shipments were pulled down lower by component shortages, which hit all major brands and made it difficult to meet demand. Samsung remained at the head of the pack, followed by Xiaomi, Apple, Oppo and Vivo.
