Smartphone shipments jump 27% in Q1 led by Samsung - Canalys

Smartphone shipments jumped 27 percent year-on-year in the first quarter to 347 million with Samsung at the head, followed by Apple and Xiaomi showing its best single-quarter ever, according to the latest study from Canalys. Looking ahead to the coming quarters, shipment growth will be impacted by supply problems for critical components such as chipsets. This will be drive global brands to rethink regional strategies. For example, some brands have stopped prioritizing shipments to India amid the latest virus wave, and focus their efforts on recovering regions such as Europe. Smaller brands
