Smartphones used by 81% of German internet surfers

Among the 63 million Germans who go online, mobile phones are the most popular devices used for internet access, new data from the German Bureau of Statistics (Destatis) shows. The survey found that smartphones were used by around 81 percent of German internet surfers to access the web in the first quarter of 2016. In addition, around 69 percent of internet users went online with a laptop or notebook and 65 percent used a desktop computer.
