Social media harmful for children, says Dutch consumer association

Social media is unsuitable for children, Dutch consumer organisation Consumentenbond found, after examining Facebook, Instagram, Signal, Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok, WhatsApp and YouTube. After looking at what options children and parents have to make the platform a safe environment, they concluded that platforms take too little account of the vulnerability of children, violate privacy and have too few child-friendly settings.
