SoftBank, Microsoft to build cloud robots for retailers

Japanese operator SoftBank has signed a partnership agreement with Microsoft to jointly develop robots for retailers, The China Post reports. SoftBank's 'Pepper' robots are manufactured by Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn. SoftBank said it will cooperate with Microsoft in the area of cloud robotics, with a focus on integrating Pepper robots with Microsoft's cloud computing technologies.
