SoftBank mulls telecom, electricity bundles for consumers

Friday 31 January 2014 | 01:45 CET | News
Japan's SoftBank is considering offering discounts to its telecommunications customers for its upcoming electricity services, the Nikkei reports. The company plans to launch electricity services for businesses this year and then expand to households in 2016, when Japan's power retail market is fully liberalised. SoftBank will study the option of offering a low-cost bundled package that includes electricity as well as telecommunications services, tapping its 50-million strong customer base.
