SoftBank sells 300 homanoid robots for software developers

Japanese telecommunications operator Softbank has sold out all 300 units of its homanoid robot for software developers. The human-like robot can talk and read human expressions. Dubbed Pepper, the robot measures 1.2 metres or 4 feet, and includes the ability to dance, make jokes and estimate human emotions based on expressions.The 300 units were sold online and at stores for software developers. The Japanese operator expects to start selling the robot at Sprint stores in the US by summer 2015, according to previous reports.
