Softbank, Sprint reach security agreement with govt - report

Softbank and Sprint Nextel have reached an agreement in principle in the US government over national security concerns, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. The deal is likely to be finalised in the next few days, clearing the biggest regulatory obstacle to Softbank's USD 20 million takeover of Sprint Nextel. Under the reported deal, Sprint would have a national security committee composed of four members, including a security director sitting on its board. The government would have to approve the committee members and would also have veto rights over Sprint's
