SoftBank targets FY profit of USD 980 mln at US ops

Japanese mobile operator SoftBank estimates its US business will achieve an operating profit of around JPY 100 billion (approximately USD 980 million) in the current fiscal year, the Nikkei reports. The growth will mainly be driven by restructuring measures and recovering subscriber numbers from this summer, according to CEO Masayoshi Son. SoftBank's US mobile unit Sprint saw a JPY 1.2 billion operating loss in the last fiscal year.
