SoftBank to launch 'Pepper' robot business in China

SoftBank Robotics plans to launch its humanoid robot 'Pepper' in the China market. Alibaba Robot Corporation, a joint venture between Alibaba Group and SoftBank Group, will work on the robotic business in China, with plans to offer Pepper to developer customers as a service unique in China. Pepper will be powered by 'YunOS', the operating system developed by Alibaba. The new YunOS-enabled Pepper prototype will be displayed at the Alibaba Cloud 2016 Computing Conference, in Hangzhou from 13 to 16 October.
