Anvia said it has received a bid from Telia Company’s Finnish operation, Sonera, for its Anvia Telecom arm of EUR 130 million for its entire share capital. Chairman of the board of directors Aappo Tolkien said Anvia has a binding agreement with Elisa, to be decided upon at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) next week. At the end of May, Elisa bid EUR 107 million for Anvia’s telecom business, IT and hosting businesses as well as parts of its television business.
Elisa offered to pay with Anvia shares, cash, and security business Tansec shares. Elisa has been running a buy-out offer to Anvia shareholders since spring 2015 and owns approximately one third of its capital.
Telia Company said Sonera’s offer is in cash. Anvia’s telecoms network covers the three cities of Vaasa, Seinajoki and Kokkola in Western Finland, as well as smaller towns, reaching more than 100,000 households. In 2015 Anvia’s net sales amounted to EUR 63.5 million, EBITDA to EUR 15.2 million, and the EBITDA margin was 23.9 percent.
Sonera CEO Valdur Laid said the company is highly interested in pursuing the transaction and is ready to commit all necessary resources to carry out the process on an expedited basis.
